Son Gual practice facilities

When we planned and constructed our driving range, we had no intention that it should then be operated on conveyor belt principles. Consequently, the maxim "you can't beat quality" applies even to this aspect of Son Gual.
No expense or effort has been spared in the creation of our practice facilities. Not only are our grounds in tip-top condition as a matter of course - you will also be impressed by the wide range of practice facilities available. Having the facilities to train is the foundation of a successful game. Ideally, the practice area should provide you with the opportunity to train for every situation you may find on the course.

An outline of our practice installations:

• Seven practice greens protected by bunkers for practising shots in realistic conditions
• Very large, closely mown grass tees on the two-level driving range 
• Two large and challenging putting greens: one with a magnificent view over Palma, the other with a view over the driving range 
• Chipping area with differing lengths of cut; from a short tour-height apron (7mm) to fairway height (17mm) through to semi-rough; one challenge after another. 
• Terraced pitching area for all possible pitch shots up to 60m on to an undulating green with two deep practice bunkers 
• Fairway bunkers on to the driving range so you can practise long shots from the bunker, as there are more than enough of them on the course!

We are constantly working to upgrade and improve our facilities - including those in our practice area. We have the following on our ‘to do' list:

• A par-3 practice hole (approx 130m in length) protected by greenside bunkers to enable you to practise your pitching under real conditions. This practice hole also offers a flat fairway bunker so you can practise mid-length bunker shots on to a realistic green. 
• Grass hillside practice ground

The practice ground is not open to the public.

Use of our practice facilities is open to all our green fee guests and pupils at our golf school during instruction.
Members have unlimited access to all areas and have a separate designated teeing off area.

Currently the Son Gual Golf Academy is directed by Michel Monnard.
Michel Monnard is a member of the Spanish PGA, holds an Accredited Instructor Level 2 at the Harold Swash Putting School of Excellence, TPI Certified Golf Fitness Instructor and TPI Certified Junior Coach Level 2.
